"Gorham sterling silver tea service" Gorham silver,This is a wonderful complete sterling silver tea service made by the Gorham silver company.The Gorham hallmarks indicate that this set was made in 1946. The tray is original to the set and was made with a sterling silver exterior rim and a hard scratch proof interior. The tray measures 16 inches across. The teapot measures 8 and one half inches high, the coffee pot measures 11 and one half inches high, the waste bowl is 4 inches high, the covered sugar measures 6 inches high, and the creamer measures 5 inches high. All the pieces are solid sterling silver and hall marked Gorham sterling silver on their bases. This is a very good quality set with a nice heavy silver weight. Gorham is one of the top sterling silver companies.

William Spratling,Early Spratling Mexican silver,"William Spratling silver salad set" William Spratling handmade sterling silver.This pair of hand hammered sterling silver salad fork and spoon is rare and retains the original William Spratling Taxco Mexico hallmarks on its reverse side.The salad set measures 12 7/8inches long and 2 and one quarter inches wide with 1 and one quarter inch wood handles. The spoon in this set has an old line crack repair. Both pieces have a deep hand hammered silver surface and have a wonderful heavy silver weight. Early Spratling silver pieces are very rare and hard to come by. Please refer to "Mexican Silver" by Penny Chittim Morrill and Carole A. Beck for similar examples and an explanation of this period of Mexican Silver history and design.
