 Antique leather Elephant from India or AfricaItem # 1722Antique leather elephant,this "elephant" was made from wood with a leather cover. It was most probably made in the mid 19th century in India during the British rule,Anglo India period. It could also have been made in African. It is quite a wonderful sculpture with glass eyes and exacting detail. There is an old repair to its trunk. It was cracked and someone repaired it along time ago. This Elephant measures 19 inches high at the trunk and 13 and and one half inches to its back. The length is 19 inches.
