Pair American cast iron urns on bases c1845 to 1865. Rare pair of matching cast iron urns on wooden bases. This pair of "American Cast Iron Urns" dates from the middle of the 19th century and were most probably the tops of gates or fence posts. We had the wooden bases made to show them off. They would make the perfect door stops, large bookends or just a lovely decorative accessory. Each urn measures 16 inches high and 10 inches across with a base of 14 and one quarter by 8 inches with a 10 inches base molding. Over all height is 31 inches. The casting detail is fantastic with flames rising above the swag covered urns.
