1798 Writ Antique legal document Item # 2335 "Antique court summons" A second legal writ attaching the property of Abraham Bailey of Chatham, Connecticut, over a delinquent loan from 1796. This antique document is dated 23rd October 1798. It is in very good condition with a small chip on the right edge (hardly noticeable) and the usual folds found on all legal documents. The frame is gold and the matte is a light burgundy that blends with any decor. It is 11 inches by 13 inches framed. We currently have three eighteenth and early nineteenth century legal documents framed and matted as a set. 1820 Antique Document Summons for Law Suit Item # 2336 This antique document is a summons for the defendant to appear before the county court for action on a note dated the 13th of July 1819. Apparently Noel Ives ran afoul of the law when he could not pay the owed sum of 30! This piece of antique "legal memorabilia" is in outstanding condition with no chips or tears. It has the fold lines all legal documents have. The frame is gold and the matte is a light burgundy that blends with any decor. It is 11 inches by 13 inches framed. Antique Bronze figure of Dionysus by Sabatino de Angelis Item # 1582 "Antique bronzes" Italian Artist Sabatino de Angelis, de Angelis. de Angelis was a very good bronze foundry in Naples at end of 19th century, beginning of 20th century, like Boschetti in Rome. ( he was 30 years earlier). This antique bronze sculpture, or bronze figure by sculptor Sabatini is signed on base "Sabatino di Angelis Napoli" 1886. Erotic okimono couple caught in act of love Item # 1589 Unusual Japanese okimono carving.This okimono carving is unique with its sliding door.Slide open the door and two people are caught in the act of love. Wonderful carving detail. Measures 2 and one quarter inches long by 7/8inches long. Signed by the artist on base. This wonderful okimono carving came to us from an Essex CT estate along with eight other netsuke and okimono. They were purchased in New York on Madison Ave at a high end shop in the 1960s. Antique sterling silver Atlantic Yacht Trophy Item # 1600 "Yachting trophy" Antique sterling Silver yachting trophy.English sterling silver yachting trophy engraved Eleventh Annual Regatta of the Atlantic Yacht Club June 6 1876 MADCAP. This yachting trophy was made by Starr and Marcus, Theodore B Starr and Herman Marcus in New York which latter became Theodore B. Starr. It is stamped Starr and Marcus New York English Sterling 343 on its base. It measures 7 inches high and 10 inches across. There is still a nice trace of the gold vermeil on its inside. The aesthetic movement design along the rim depicts birds,butterflies,the mid base has a shell pattern and the base has a flower and spade design.
